1) What exactly does this program backup?

Answer: All files types can be backed up.. If it is stored on your computer, BWIS will back it up. Example: Office products: docs, docx, xls, etc. Sound or Audio files, mp3, wav, etc. Video Files such as wmv and wma files. Applications such as QuickBooks, Intuit, etc.

2) Where do you backup?


Answer: You can backup to any device on your computer, however we recommend you backup a flash drive or external hard drive. This protects you from a hard drive crash.

3) What is the Offsite Feature and do I have to use it?


Answer: The offsite storage feature will send data to our secure data repository where only you can access. Each user has their own space, and no one else can access your space, plus your data is triply secured, as we have 2 layers of security, plus you provide your own password for the third layer (ZIP FILE).

Answer 2: You do not have to use or subscribe to the offsite feature. BWIS will fully backup your data to a device of your choice. However, the offsite feature will ensure your can retrieve you data in the worst case scenario, such as stolen or damaged computers.

4) I see a message 'Not Responding' when the backup is running?


Answer: Our program calls a low level application that actually works in the background of your computer. It is running. We suggest you let it run to completion.

5) Does the Setup Program have to running to backup?

Answer: No. After you have setup your backups, exit the backup program and logoff and restart your computer. The backup monitor will load and the backup will run at the scheduled time.

6) How can I add/delete a backup or change the scheduled time?

Answer: Simple. Launch the BackupWhileISleep program from your desktop, and either add a backup with the wizard form the 'Backups', delete a backup form the 'Details' Tab, or click on the 'Schedule' tab and change the days or time for the backup. Exit the Setup application when you are done and either logoff and log back on, or restart your computer.

7) What operating systems is this software compatible with?

Answer: All Windows OS from windows 95 forward including Windows 7.
